How we work

Raw Hides

Before the proper tanning operations, beamhouse process prepares the raw hides for the treatments with tanning ingredients. If required, salt is depleted through machinery. After a preliminary trim to confer the ideal pattern, the hides are processed in the liming drums.

Fleshing

A dual cylinder machinery with rotating blades called fleshing machine homogenizes the surface of the hides after liming and the residual parts deriving from the previous process are collected. Such by-product can be valorized into regenerated sole leather, protein based fertilizers or filler for synthetic materials.

Wet Blue

Tanning and dyeing of the hides are the processes which most of all characterize our quality. Only a tanning process thoroughly respecting traditional work times can lead to high quality wet blue. Once our hides are carefully inspected one by one and graded by our personnel, the following detanning, greasing and dyeing allow our best leather to acquire the characteristic softness, resistance, elasticity and a preliminary shade.

Crust

The successive semi-finished product denominated “Crust” already possesses the required properties such as water resistance, flame proof, heat and abrasion resistance. The remaining finishing process allows leather to obtain the desired colour, brightness, elasticity and durability for the final aspect.

Finished

The last and very important phases are those of grading and measurement, in order to select only the most suitable productions. Such parts require the experience of trained personnel and are carried out manually. Finally, leather is prepared for shipments according to customers’ needs and shipped throughout the World.
